UPDATE 04-11-25: HEDE have now uploaded their weekly schedules but the services will remain under close observation by eeSea analysts.
In what is becoming a steady and quickening trickle of cancelled sailings and even some complete service suspensions US bound liner services, another carrier is positioned to follow suit since yesterday's developments in the Trump trade war stand off.
The Hong Kong based shipping company HEDE is a likely candidate to cancel both of it's direct China to US strings. The HEDE - HDS and HEDE - HDS2 - both calling Los Angeles - have not received any updated weekly schedules since March 27, leading our analysts to suspect an imminent suspension. We also confirmed the cancellation of Taiwan based TS Lines' China to US service, the AWC2, on Monday.
While it's not unthinkable that we will see more suspensions from larger carriers and alliances - these quieter developments and warnings from smaller carriers like Atlantic Container Line reveal they have far less room to extend a 'wait and see' approach to the imapct of these tariffs, prompting them to act earlier and more decisively.
