UASC appoints new leadership to North America organization

by Patrick Fach-Pedersen

United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) announced today the appointment of Stuart Sandlin as President of its North American organization.

Sandlin will be responsible for spearheading UASC’s ambitious growth plans in North America. With his team, he will focus on improving the customer experience by offering a more personalized service and ensuring a deep understanding of individual customer needs.

Prior to joining UASC, Sandlin held the position of Senior Vice President of Sales and Customer Service for the Americas at Hapag-Lloyd America, Inc. where he was responsible for the commercial organization. Preceding this, he held several managerial positions with Danzas, BAX Global, and Expeditors. Sandlin holds a Masters in Logistics from Georgia Tech and a Bachelors degree in Economics.

Sandlin observed, “We recognize that there is a gap in high quality service in the liner shipping marketplace today. UASC aims to close this gap by ensuring our customers get proactive communication, timely and accurate documentation and invoices, and swift problem resolution. We will develop trust and open communication with current and potential clients based on a solid foundation of reliable execution and excellent people. It is by doing this that UASC will become the high service alternative in liner shipping.”

Mr. Uffe Østergaard, Chief Commercial Officer at UASC added, “We are delighted to welcome Stuart to the global leadership team alongside his North America role, his deep knowledge of the industry and strong leadership skills will play a very active role in shaping UASC’s global commercial strategy.”
