SeaLead launches FIX3 in latest example of favorable Indian market growth

SeaLead launched their first iteration of the 'FIX' Asia-India express service series back in August 2023 so while it's not an entirely new route for the carrier, it does reflect a steady trend in improved regional connectivity. The upcoming FIX3 will call Nhava Sheva on India's West Coast, with an 18 day transit time from it's first port of call Shanghai. It will host the shortest rotation compared to its predecessors, making a total of just 4 calls: Shanghai - Ningbo - Nansha - Nhava Sheva. Vessels will reportedly be in the 2.5-5.5K TEU range landing it comfortably between the FIX2's smaller 2.4K TEU range vessels and the larger FIX deployments in the 6K TEU range.

Indian market growth has seen a spike in renewed interest since Q4 2024 from the likes of Maersk (see ML - IAX), CMA CGM (see CMA - BIGEX), Hapag Lloyd (see HL - IAX), RCL (see RCL - RNI6), and even Turkish carriers like Turkon (see TRK - TRI) joining the heated competition. The increased offerings are not limited to Far East - Europe; Maersk added a strategic call to Mundra on their MECL1 route serving the Middle East - North America trade, and major US ports like Savannah are likewise boasting of their favorable port connectivity with the country.

Our analysts are actively working to review and update the upcoming vessel assignment details.
