Q2 2025 is the best performing quarter since Q1 2024

If we look at the numbers by quarter, we can see that Q2 2025 (36%) has been performing a lot better than Q1 (29%) - improved by 7% to be exact. Meaning the average delay in days has gone from -5.4 days last quarter to -3.8 days this quarter. Q2 2025 is the best performing quarter since Q4 2023.

Month-to-month global reliability also remains relatively stable with June landing at 37% OTP, just 1% short of May results.

Gemini has best performance since February 2025

The quarterly results for alliances show that Gemini is still undisputably No. 1 for Q2 2025 with an OTP of 83% compared to 86% in Q1 2025. Ocean takes second place with 27%, and MSC takes third with 26%. Premier sees a significant 9% decline from Q1 to Q2 and rests at 24%

In the monthly results, Gemini improves its OTP by 4% - clocking in at 85% OTP for the month of June. This is their best performance since February 2025 at 91%.

MSC surges ahead of both Ocean and Premier alliances this month: MSC is at second place with 28%, followed by Ocean at 27% and Premier alliance at third with 21%. Non-alliance carriers total at 37% and if they are included in rankings are the 'true' second place holders since March 2025.

Week-by-week, Gemini briefly lost steam again, dropping from 87% in week 23 to 85% in week 24, 82% in week 25, and now optimistically picking up at 85% at the end of week 26. The top performing alliance has averaged at 83% weekly reliability in Q2.

Maersk still No. 1 and ZIM making a comeback

Maersk has been No. 1 since Q4 2021 when it comes to reliability by vessel operator. After a severe downfall in Q3 2021, Zim has struggled to gain foothold . However, since Q1 2024 they have really upped their game hitting both second and third place and this quarter they end on a solid 3rd place again with 43% OTP - just ahead of Wan Hai Lines by a 0.37%

Maersk is on a continued upward trajectory and stays in a secure first place with OTP increasing for the fifth consecutive month - June ends with 66% OTP. The gap between Maersk and Hapag Lloyd that remained between 2-3% since March has widened significantly with Hapag Lloyd ending June at 57%

Zim moves ahead of tied-up Cosco (37%) and Wan Hai Lines (37%) this month, gaining third with 52% OTP. The carrier has continued to improve their OTP since April.

Measuring by VSA partner, Maersk Line, Hapag-Lloyd and Zim also make up the top three.

South America West Coast holds steady as best trade

South America West Coast is still the best performing trade with 47% compared to 44% last quarter. Europe - North America follows close behind, improving from 33% in Q1 comapred to 44% in Q2. Far East - North America comes in third and is performing a lot better in Q2 2025 (39%) compared to same quarter last year (29%).

Oceania (31%) falls just behind the Middle East (32%) this quarter, switching places from Q1.

Monthly results include top three of South America West Coast (47%), Europe - North America (44%), and South America East Coast (38%). South America West Coast has seen a slight 0.33 day delay improvement down to -2.3 days in June.

Most other trades have taken a notch down compared to last month except for Europe-North America both South American trades. Oceania (28%) has fallen the farthest by 9% OTP or -0.7 days delay.
