Just yesterday, OCEAN Alliance published news of its upcoming offerings for 2025 with the Day 9 Product slated to begin roll-out of new schedules in April.
All participating carriers published their respective press releases in a coordinated effort on January 12th except the notable absence of an advisory from CMA CGM as of this afternoon.. Read more from: OOCL | Evergreen | COSCO
COSCO’s heavily detailed brochure already boasts of 2 new Transpacific services and 1 new Asia - Northern Europe service on the major E/W trades, as well as new connections to Asia (Port Kelang, Cai Mep, Yangpu) on the existing OCEAN - AWE4 and OCEAN - AWE5 loops serving the U.S. East Coast. Evergreen has also duly noted that 3 planned Transatlantic services will begin a new partnership with ONE as early as February, ahead of the rest of the network changes. Our team had already updated these based on the ONE announcement from December 17, 2024: OCEAN - TAT2 | OCEAN - TAT3 | OCEAN - TAX
There are still nagging details left to unearth regarding utilization of the Red Sea passage through the Suez Canal. Despite a period of on-again-off-again hints in p2p vessel schedules and advisories in Q4 2024, we reported as early as November 2024 that carriers were likely to steer clear of the passage in 2025 - an observation now broadly echoed as in this recent Loadstar article. While COSCO has explicitly stated intentions to adopt a transshipment model (citing reliability and safety concerns) to continue serving the region, we noted that the upcoming OCEAN - MED5 rotation in their downloadable Day 9 brochure currently shows transit through the Suez.
The eeSea team is busily digging through the details and deciphering what all of this means for existing and new routes, and equally importantly confirming the continuity of reported changes across all participating carriers. We will continue to update the live links below, as well as publish any new analysis in the days and weeks to follow.
