Total international container volume for November 2024 increased 32.9% over the same month last year. Full international import volume increased 24.2%, the ninth consecutive month of growth. Full international exports increased 24.1%. Total container volume (international and domestic) for the month reached 290,210 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), growing 25.7% compared to November 2023.
Year-to-date, volumes are up 12% over last year to 3,035,986 TEUs, with full imports increasing 18.3% and full exports growing 9.6%.
Domestic container volumes declined 1.2% compared to YTD 2023. Alaska volumes decreased 0.3%, and Hawaii volumes decreased 6.2%.
The NWSA recently partnered with PTSC on a partial reconfiguration of Terminal 46’s yard to add additional auto storage. The changes added around 750 spots, which brings the total auto capacity to around 7,750 units. In early February, the auto business launched at Terminal 46 when the NWSA welcomed the GLOVIS vessel Silver Sky. YTD, almost 19,000 auto units have transited through the facility.
Other cargo stats:
- Total breakbulk volume decreased 12.9% for 363,228 metric tons YTD.
- Auto volumes were 312,872 units, up 2.3% YTD.
