July 25, 2018 – MCC Transport (MCC), A.P. Moller Maersk’s regional shipping specialist in Intra-Asia launches the Intra-Asia 6 (IA6) service.

The IA6 service links East Malaysia to key ports in China and South Korea, making it an ideal service that can support the economy of the region and the growing trade and investments between North East Asia and Malaysia.

“We believe that the IA6 can play a significant role in supporting Malaysia’s trade growth as it links East Malaysia to China and the rest of the world,” says Naresh Potty, Chief Commercial Officer of MCC Transport.

The IA6 offers a direct service from Pyong Taek, Busan, Dalian, Xingang and Hong Kong to Kota Kinabalu and Bintulu, enabling faster and more efficient transit times between 4 to 16 days.

This also enables export trade from East Malaysia by linking business opportunities from ports like Bintulu, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Tawau to Korea, China and the rest of Asia.

IA6 Southbound sailing will commence on 30 July at Dalian port, China, while Northbound will be on 9 August at Tanjung Pelepas.
