Maersk to add new service ME8 for further connection between the Middle East with Europe

The following advisory was published by Maersk:

We are pleased to announce that we are launching a new service connecting the Middle East and Europe.

The ME8 joins our ME routes, with the service sailing via the Cape of Good Hope. Its rotation consists of Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates – Doha, Qatar – Dammam, Saudi Arabia – Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia – Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates - Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Duqm, Oman - Salalah, Oman – Port Tangier, Morocco – Port Said, Egypt – Barcelona, Spain – Port Tangier, Morocco – Algeciras, Spain – Salalah, Oman.

Service frequency will be weekly.

The first expected westbound sailing will be the San Clemente voyage 407W, departing Doha, Qatar, 14 February 2024. The first expected eastbound sailing will be the Constantinos P II voyage 407E, departing Port Said, Egypt, 17 February 2024.

More connectivity This new service will allow for more connectivity and flexibility for your supply chain. This service will offer solutions for cargo going from the Persian Gulf to West Mediterranean and East Mediterranean, and vice versa. Additionally, it offers more coverage between the West and East Mediterranean. In Europe, Port Tangier and Port Said will serve as transshipment hubs, while Salalah and Jebel Ali will serve as Transshipment hubs in the Middle east for cargo connections.
