Maersk - Changes to Europe to West Africa Network

The following release was published by Maersk:

As your end-to-end logistics partner, we are constantly seeking ways to expanding our network and improve the efficiency of our services. That is why we are pleased to announce we are expanding our network options.

From week 17, we will be making below changes to our Europe to/from West Africa Services.

To meet the seasonal market demand in South Africa, the WAF7 and WAF13 services will be merged, and will be extended to Coega, South Africa. The WAF2 service will be upgraded and extended to Freetown, Sierra Leone.

Since the disruptions of the Red Sea, global logistics have faced great challenges in East Mediterranean Area. Therefore, the WAF6 service will be extended to Port Said, Egypt, to offer you better coverage and reduce bottlenecks. We will also add a northbound Tema call to support West Africa exports.

  • New WAF2: Tangier (TC1) – Tangier (TM2) - Dakar - Freetown (new!) – Tangier (TC1)
  • New WAF6: Tangier (TM2) - Algeciras - Tema - Apapa - Tema (new!) – Tangier (TC1) - Algeciras - Port Said (new!) – Tangier (TM2)
