King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam continued its operational excellence by achieving a new record in May 2024, handling 292,612 TEUs. This milestone reflects the successful efforts of the Saudi Ports Authority “Mawani” in developing its infrastructure, aligning with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS) to solidify the Kingdom’s standing as a global logistics hub bridging three continents.

This achievement confirms the exceptional operational and logistical capabilities of King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam, featuring 43 fully serviced and equipped berths with a handling capacity of up to 105 million tons of cargo and containers. The port also boasts several specialized terminals, advanced facilities, and modern equipment that enable it to handle various types of cargo.

Additionally, this success affirms Mawani’s efforts to transform King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam into a smart port operating with 5G technology as part of the Smart Ports Initiative. This initiative aims to automate port operations to enhance efficiency and increase container handling capacity.

Notably, King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam broke the record it set in March 2024 by handling 289,787 TEUs, highlighting its pivotal role in supporting commercial movement and contributing to the supply chains for imports and exports to and from the Kingdom
