Hamburg Süd fleet could be cut as Maersk faces up to takeover conditions

The LoadStar reports that 25 or more of Hamburg Süd’s 47 vessels will be affected by the regulatory restrictions imposed on the Maersk Line acquisition of the German carrier. Due to termination of services and vessel sharing agreements related to services in and out of Latin America, where the majority of Hamburg Süd’s capacity is deployed, a significant fleet reduction is expected.
