Guinea signs contract to upgrade Conakry

Guinea’s government has signed a $770m contract with China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) to upgrade the port of Conakry.

Under the contract, CHEC will construct three docks, roads and other infrastructure in the eastern zone of the port, providing parking for up to 600 trucks.

Ding Jialong, CHEC director in Guinea, said at a speech at the signing ceremony: “With the completion of this project extending the autonomous port of Conakry, it will become the largest in the sub-region.”
