Gemini Cooperation's 2025 Voyages Unearthed

by Destine Ozuygur

Last week we posted about Hapag Lloyd dropping hints of upcoming vessel schedules for the Gemini Cooperation network, along with opening up bookings on their new platform by December 3rd.

Once bookings opened up yesterday, we did begin to see more resolute signs of which vessels can be expected to phase into the new proforma rotations, which terminals will be called, and what the berth windows are going to look like on the new E/W trade lines.

Several interesting caveats still permeate the availability of information at this time: for starters Maersk Line still doesn’t appear to have the same level of information available on their own platform as Hapag Lloyd. That means our analysts currently have no way to accurately benchmark information up against both participating carriers - a standard step in our verification process.

Another persistent hurdle in discovery relies on the fact that these schedules must be unearthed through vessel-level track and trace methods; they are not yet available in the summarized long-term schedule format common to the services themselves.

The available starting dates for vessel assignments vary by route: seven Asia-Europe lines, like the GEM - Asia Med loop 3, still do not show vessel activity on the new routes until mid-late April 2025. The Transpacific trade on the other hand, is displaying bookings beginning in February for nearly all West Coast lines with the GEM - WC5 being the single exception. There are also two Far East - North America services where we are yet to pinpoint arrival information for Busan & Vancouver, and three Asia - Europe services where Hamburg & Qingdao arrivals details are incomplete.

The total available vessel assignments also vary by service; with some like the GEM - US1 providing information for 6 of 12 total slots, while others like the GEM - Asia Northern Europe loop 2 have just 2 out of 13. The total slot numbers have been more or less established for the past couple of months, along with round trip times and call frequency - but the availability of vessel voyages opens up our ability to establish forecasts and trade capacity details, along with other valuable insights.

We have compiled a list of which Gemini services are currently displaying vessel, berth, and terminal information from February onward - all of which are continually updated in our database. Check out the new rotations and upcoming voyage details in our eeSea Signals section below.
