Changes to Maersk Line’s MECL1 and MECL2 Services

by Patrick Fach-Pedersen

Effective January 15, 2015, we are making changes to our Middle East/India Subcon/Pakistan Service portfolio with the consolidation of two services into one. The MECL1 and MECL2 will be merged into a new MECL service, offering direct products from Port Qasim/Pipavav/Nhava Sheva to Houston. Salalah will also be a new direct port for eastbound.

We will continue to serve Colombo/Jeddah/Aqaba to the United States East Coast and Gulf region via transhipment.

The rotation for this new service will be as follows:

Jebel Ali > Port Qasim > Pipavav > Nhava Sheva > Salalah > Algeciras > Newark > Charleston > Savannah > Houston > Savannah > Norfolk > Newark > Algeciras > Port Said (fortnightly) > Djibouti (fortnightly) > Salalah > Jebel Ali

This change will come into effect with the westbound sailing of the Maersk Pittsburgh in Salalah on January 15, 2015. The Maersk Pittsburgh’s eastbound rotation will commence on February 11, 2015 from Houston.
