APM Terminals Port Elizabeth Still Affected by Cyber Attack

APM Terminals Port Elizabeth (APMT ELZ) is still combating the cyber attack, two weeks after Danish transport and logistics major Maersk was hit by Petya.

Port and terminal operator informed that APMT ELZ is open on July 11 from 6:00 AM until 7:00 PM local time for empty delivery/receiving and import delivery only.

APMT ELZ will not be receiving exports, the status update report said.

Additionally, APMT ELZ will be open until 7:00 PM for the remainder of this week (July 10-14). As explained, the terminal operator also plans on having a modified gate on July 15 from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Boasting 350 acres, 15 ship-to-shore cranes, 6001 feet of wharf, including three deep-water berths, Port Elizabeth is APM Terminals’ largest terminal on the east coast of North America.

On June 27, the cyber attack shut down IT systems across the company’s business units including APM Terminals. A few days after the attack, Maersk informed that it restored operations at the majority of its terminals.

One of the company’s terminals, APM Terminals Rotterdam, also said on July 11 that it is fully operational again.
