Singapore-based container shipping company APL has added three ports of call to its weekly Asia Latin America (ALX) service.

Including Callao (Peru), Da Chan Bay (China) and Valparaiso (Chile), the expanded ALX service is said to offer “a more comprehensive coverage” across Asia, Manzanillo in Mexico and South America West Coast.

“Export manufacturers from Asia, in particular those from the Pearl River Delta can expect to exploit a larger market coverage in the Americas via the direct service of ALX from Asia to South America west coast. As the service facilitates access to Central America via Manzanillo in Mexico where transshipment options are available, the extended port calls to Callao in Peru as well as Valparaiso in Chile will enable route to these Latin America markets,” Efrain Osorio, APL Head of Latin America Trade, said.

The enhanced ALX Eastbound will call the ports of Keelung (Taiwan), Hong Kong, Da Chan Bay, Xiamen, Yangshan, Ningbo (China), Busan (South Korea), Manzanillo (Mexico), Callao (Peru), Valparaiso (Chile).

The upgraded Eastbound service of ALX is scheduled to depart Keelung on October 13, 2016.
