2M Alliance member carriers – Maersk Line and Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) – have released updates to their Asia to Europe network of services that will commence in March 2019.
The revisions that will be implemented are aimed to improve overall schedule reliability of the member carriers. Most services for the Asia to Northern Europe and Asia to Mediterranean trade routes will have new rotations, a total of six (6) extra vessels are added across the ten (10) service strings in the network and an average of 2-3 days longer transit time is expected. According to Maersk Line, additional vessels will be deployed to the AE2, AE5, AE6, AE10, AE11 and AE12 service loops. The capacity per service will be decided at a later stage hence we will keep an eye out for further updates.
A full list of changes, all of which have now been entered into the eeSea database, follows.
